Right Step Alumni Program Overview

No one ever plans to become a drug addict or an alcoholic, yet it happens, every day, to thousands of men, women and teens. There are many reasons why people begin to abuse and become dependent upon alcohol or drugs and, for those who will not or cannot stop, we always wish there was a way of preventing it from happening in the first place.
Addiction Recovery and Alumni -- Taking The Right Step
Our graduates will tell you that The Right Step treatment programs and Alumni Services' aftercare really work. No treatment program can be as successful as The Right Step's programs without the aftercare component. Our Alumni programs provide aftercare that helps prevent alcohol or drug relapse by establishing a social support network of recovering people and the structure to maintain a sober lifestyle. When a person makes a choice to enter treatment to get help with alcohol and/or drug abuse, they begin a journey that can be demanding on all aspects of their newly sober life. As the person graduates, there is happiness, but there may also be some fear. Alumni services provide a way for the recovering person to gain support and witness the success of others who have gone through a similar process.
The Right Step's Alumni Program offers activities and support to graduates of The Right Step treatment services. Our alumni group holds weekly 12 step meetings, plays softball, assist in client activities, volunteers, holds fundraisers and other events that maintain a sense of community. A recovering person can feel alone, even with family members who offer support, so it helps to have others that have gone through the program as peers. Even more important is the opportunity to have someone who has been on the path to recovery for sometime available and willing to lend support and a positive word of advice. The great thing is that the alums can do this while in fun social situations, such as team sports, dinners, or any other number of activities. It's our commitment to the long-term plan for recovery that makes our programs so successful.
TRS Outreach Group
The newest addition to our Alumni is our OUTREACH GROUP. This is a wonderful opportunity for our Alumni to get out into the community and start making a difference! We will be setting up Outreach Programs with schools, businesses, community groups, and various other organizations within this great city! Our Outreach Group will be presenting an EDUCATIONAL and INSPIRATIONAL Workshop for all who are interested. This will be led by a Certified Prevention Specialist licensed by The State of Texas. We would appreciate an opportunity to talk with you, your organization, or company about our Outreach Program. We have an incredible group of people in recovery both young and older with a message like none you have ever heard! Please contact me directly to set up an introduction meeting. I will be happy to answer any questions or concerns that you may have. TOGETHER WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
