Being able to meet, play, volunteer, learn and socialize together is a crucial part of becoming healthy in mind and body for the recovering addict or alcoholic. Addiction Recovery and Alumni -- Taking The Right Step

Our graduates will tell you, The Right Step treatment programs and Alumni Services' aftercare work.  No treatment program can be as successful as The Right Step's programs without the aftercare that any person who is recovering from addiction needs. Our Alumni programs provide aftercare that help prevent alcohol or drug relapse. When a person makes a choice to enter treatment to get help with alcohol and/or drug abuse, they begin a journey that can be demanding on all aspects of their newly sober life. When a person graduates our programs, there is happiness, but also fear. Alumni services provide a way for the recovering addict to get support and witness the success of others who have gone through The Right Step's treatment program. How Does Alumni Program Work?

The Right Step's Alumni Service program offers activities and support to graduates of The Right Step programs. Our alumni groups play softball, go to meetings, plan picnics and other events that maintain the sense of community long after your loved one leaves treatment.  A recovering alcoholic or addict can feel alone, even with family members who offer support, but when a person is in recovery, it helps to have others that have gone through the program with your loved one. Even more important is to have the support of someone who has been on the path to recovery for sometime who can give advice.  All of our alumni have been down the road of trying to break their addiction to alcohol or drugs, so they are able to give advice and support. Best of all, they can do this while in fun social situations, such as team sports, dinners, or any other number of activities. It's part of the long-term plan for recovery that makes our programs so successful.
