Addiction Disease Treatment: Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI) Chlamydia Explained - Outpatient Program
Receiving addiction treatment for drugs and alcohol through the Outpatient Program at The Right Step will include learning the cause and effects of Chlamydia on men and women of all backgrounds and economic levels.
During this eight-week outpatient addiction treatment program, you will discover that Chlamydia is the most common STI in people worldwide and that not all infected people exhibit symptoms. About half of men and three quarters of women have no symptoms and do not know they are infected.
STI Information in Addiction Treatment
Although Chlamydia can be serious, it can also be easily cured. Chlamydia trachomatis is a major infectious cause of human eye and genital disease. It is in fact, the most common cause of preventable blindness in the world.
Chlamydia Trachomatis is naturally found living only inside of human cells. Your instructors at The Right Step will continue to increase your STI education with information about the fact that four million cases of Chlamydia infection occur in the United States each year.
Following the information that will be provided regarding the STI Chlamydia in your addiction treatment program, will be education regarding the STI Syphilis, which is also found in both men and women of all economic and cultural backgrounds.
