Addiction Relapse-Compulsive Behavior – Outpatient Program

During your participation in addiction treatment through the Outpatient program at The Right Step, you will continue progressively through the education process involved in understanding addiction and moving forward toward positive change in your life.

Included in treatment for the disease of addiction will be informative, group treatment Sessions regarding the relapse process and the steps included in addiction relapse.  Once you have learned more about the first two steps, which are getting stuck in recovery and then denying this state, you will then learn more about the compulsive behaviors which may occur.

Supportive, licensed instructors will guide you through the relapse education, helping you to discover what compulsive behaviors are and provide you with examples for deeper comprehension.

Addictive Behaviors

You will discover that compulsive behaviors included in relapse addiction may be overworking, overeating, extreme dieting, over-exercising, co-dependency, or even romantic relationships with others in addiction treatment programs.

Whatever addictive behaviors, aka, compulsive behaviors you may be using to achieve distraction from your state of being stuck in recovery, none of these behaviors will be effectively solving your problems, but in fact, may allow an increase of stress and pain enter your life not unlike that felt during the addiction cycle.

The discussion you will have the opportunity to participate in will include the ways that a drug addict or alcoholic uses compulsive behaviors as coping mechanisms that only provide temporary solutions making matters worse in the long run.
