Addiction Treatment Program: Understanding Addictive Thinking – Outpatient Program
Achieving progressive recovery from addiction is possible by way of attendance at The Right Step in our Intensive Outpatient treatment program. This eight-week addiction treatment course will include a series of Sessions for developing an increased understanding of addiction and addiction thinking with the aim of learning how to better cope with the experiences and emotions in life and in turn assist in the prevention of addiction relapse.
As you receive help in understanding addictive thinking, which includes unhealthy and irrational beliefs, you will have the opportunity to work at eliminating the tendency towards irrational thoughts and behaviors as a result.
While it may be especially difficult to entirely eliminate irrational thought from ever occurring or returning, as it is a common experience of most people, the frequency of such types of thought can be reduced for the drug addict or alcoholic that is participating in outpatient addiction treatment at The Right Step.
The duration and intensity of these irrational thoughts may also be relieved by the development of new insights.
Addiction Disease: Methods for Recovery from Addiction
Supportive, licensed professionals at The Right Step will help guide you through the process of understanding how to develop three new insights as you attempt to make changes to your addictive thinking so that you may achieve positive change.
You will have the chance to learn
that rather than just getting upset due to external elements or circumstances,
you most often may upset yourself by the retention of inflexible beliefs. It is in fervently holding onto these beliefs
that we keep ourselves in a state of discontent and upset. You may discover through your Intensive
Outpatient addiction treatment program that your
ability to start feeling better is provided through practice and hard work in
changing the beliefs causing you this grief.
