Drug Relapse and Alcohol Relapse-Difficulties in Sobriety – Outpatient Program

Progressing in your Outpatient Treatment at The Right Step will include learning about the final stages of the relapse process and the ways that individuals with a drug or alcohol addiction may be prone to relapse, while not actually abusing these substances again.

The addiction treatment you will receive includes developing a better understanding of the importance of achieving positive change in your life so that you do not experience the full process of relapse and experience the misery these steps entail.

You will learn that while some who move through the steps in the addiction relapse process may not actually get involved in substance abuse again, they may become suicidal or experience recurring problems that seem never-ending.

Partial Recovery and Struggling in Sobriety

The ability to temporarily pull oneself together may enable the drug addict or alcoholic to continue in what is called “partial recovery” for years without ever achieving full recovery from the disease of drug abuse or alcoholism.

Supportive, licensed instructors at The Right Step will help you with examples of addictive thinking and behaviors in order to assist your furthered comprehension of relapse and the difficulties that may occur in sobriety without the achievement of full wellness.

While you continue in your educational Sessions during Outpatient Treatment, you will learn how common it is for the relapse process to take hold and how to recognize and deal with the warning signs.

About half of the alcoholics and drug addicts experiencing these relapse warming signs can stop the process before they start using addictive substances or collapse from stress. The other half revert to using alcohol or other drugs, collapse from stress related illness, or kill themselves.

You will be helped to more thoroughly understand the reasons why it is so important to learn how to identify these warning signs and stop the relapse process.
