Recovery Addiction-Predisposed to Stress – Outpatient Program
When you participate in the Intensive Outpatient Program at The Right Step, you will be guided by supportive, licensed professionals to help you increase your understanding of stress in your life, as well as the many causes of stress.
Moving forward in Session Eight of your eight-week Intensive Outpatient addiction treatment will include learning specifically about stress as a predisposition. The concept of viewing stress as a predisposition evolved over many years in response to experimental findings, clinical observation, theory formulation and prospective validation.
The opportunity to make positive changes in your life is provided through education, group discussions, visual aids, examples and illustrations for depth of comprehension, as well as via the chance to truly reflect upon the ways that the details you will be learning in your treatment for addiction connect to your personal experiences and future potential behavioral changes.

Addictive Behaviors: Type A Behavior
Type A behaviors and their effect on the individual with a drug or alcohol addiction will be discussed further in this Session of your addiction treatment program.
You will learn about Friedman and Roseman (1974) who observed a pattern of behavior particularly in young coronary patients, which later came to be known as Type A Behavior. People with Type A behaviors are those who are engaged in a relatively chronic struggle to obtain more and more in shorter time.
While attending this portion of your group addiction treatment, your opportunity for understanding the stresses experienced by the Type A person with a drug or alcohol addiction will increase.

Outpatient Alcohol Treatment and Outpatient Drug Treatment programs are offered in Austin TX, Baytown TX, Beaumont TX, Conroe TX, Dallas TX, Euless TX, Plano TX, Houston TX, Clear Lake TX, Ft. Bend TX, Pasadena TX, The Woodlands TX, San Antonio TX, Wimberley TX, Albuquerque NM.
Residential Treatment centers in DFW, Houston and Austin are also provided for recovery from addiction disease, attracting individuals from Oklahoma, Louisiana, Arkansas, Arizona and other areas of the United States to participate in recovery programs at The Right Step.
