Treatment for Addiction Relapse Process

Through a series of educational sessions with group discussions, verbal and written exercises, as well as visual aids, supportive, licensed instructors at The Right Step will guide participants of the Outpatient Addiction Treatment Program through all of the information that will be presented to assist in achieving positive change in each individual’s life.

You will learn a great deal about the relapse process, warning signs and signals, the addictive thinking that can be involved, the common justifications that are used while proceeding closer to addiction relapse and practical methods for avoiding falling into the traps of the relapse process.

At this point in your addiction treatment program, you will be discussing the relapse drift. Visual aids will help you to develop a deepened comprehension as the comparison of a strong river current is used.

If a drug addict or alcoholic swims hard enough it may be possible to get out of the current and to reach safety on the riverbank. However, the closer one gets to the waterfalls, the stronger and faster the current becomes. Once you go over the falls, you cannot swim against gravity and back up the waterfalls.
