Outpatient Addiction Treatment at The Right Step involves the digestion of a number of informative Sessions wherein you will be presented with information, have the opportunity to participate in group discussions and have time to reflect on the personal ways that this information affects you and your life choices.

As part of this work toward achieving positive change in your life through the realization of recovery from an addiction, you will learn a great deal about factors that influence addiction relapse.

Many different types of addictive thinking patterns will be discussed and in this particular section of Session Nine, you will be learning about the ways that drug addicts and alcoholics sometimes use the idea of accomplished goals as a justification for drug and alcohol abuse.

Some people may continue to abuse drugs and drink alcohol, even though they realize themselves to be alcoholics for common, specific reasons such as controlling their physical weight, feeling the need for increased energy, enjoying satisfying sexual experiences, feeling as though life is too boring without drugs or alcohol, or for social reasons such as discomfort in social environments that they feel is corrected through the use of a variety of different substances of abuse.
