The Next Step - A Sober Living Program

Treatment does not have to end with the completion of primary residential or intensive outpatient treatment. For people who need more support, TRS offers a step down level of care through our sober living program for men, called The Next Step.
Located within our DFW Central facility, The Next Step is exclusively for men who are seeking to make further strides in their recovery from drug or alcohol addiction. After completing a recovery program it is often the most trying, difficult time for those starting out on a life of sobriety. The temptation to slip back into old habits is great, and many people feel they need or would like extra help in resuming their productive lives. The Next Step's transitional living program helps those individuals who would benefit from additional guidance after completing the residential treatment or intensive outpatient programs.
What's a typical day in Sober Living like?
The Next Step clients begin their daily activities at 6:00 am and must be back on site by 10:00 pm. Sober living clients are encouraged to gain employment, continue current employment, attend school, or volunteer. Each day, clients are required to attend two therapeutic group meetings led by licensed counselors and one in-house 12-Step meeting. Counselors and support staff are available daily from 8:00 am until 10:00 pm, providing family counseling, life skills, social, legal, financial, relapse prevention and CD education. Medication management is also provided during a client's stay in Sober Living. The TRS team encourages clients to address and take care of personal responsibilities to their family and sponsor, as well as medical, legal and financial issues.
Our dedicated, compassionate staff is committed to helping these men continue to get their lives back on track. Here, at The Next Step, we understand the importance of giving direction and encouragement to those in recovery during the critical period after an intensive treatment episode. Our sober living program can help men who want to remain sober for the rest of their lives. If you or a loved one needs treatment for alcohol or drug addiction, contact The Next Step today.
