Ledger's Estate Will Go to Daughter

It was not long ago that Heath Ledger died from an overdose of prescription medication.  Shortly after there was some speculation as to how much money the late actor was leaving behind, and if his daughter would be taken care of by his estate.  News out September 29th shows that his daughter Matilda Rose will indeed be taken care of.  As stands the actors daughter stands to inherit the entire estate of her father which is valued at 16.6 million dollars.

Ledger’s will was composed before the birth of his daughter and all of his assets were willed to his parents and sisters, however both parties decided it was best to “gift” the millions to Matilda Rose.  According to Yahoo the actor’s father Kim stated in March that:

“Matilda is an absolute priority and Michelle [Ledger’s ex-wife] is an integral part of our family. They will be taken care of and that’s how Heath would want it to be.”

Apparently there was some thought that Ledger’s ex, and mother to his daughter would file a claim for assets, but as of yet that has not happened and furthermore seems unlikely given the current situation.  At any rate, Ledger’s death hopefully will sound as a wake up call to all those abusing prescription drugs.  Even in small amounts interactions can be fatal, and if you struggle with addiction perhaps rehab is the best option.
