The Next Step

The Next Step is a supportive residential treatment facility that provides a safe haven for individuals who have completed an initial treatment program for chemical dependency. The Next Step provides supervised treatment that enables a smooth transition to independent living.

Most residents in The Next Step have completed a structured treatment program and demonstrate a readiness to return to work, school, and other life functions. The Next Step program provides individual counseling and up to nine weekly groups, all structured to meet the needs of each of the residents. Group and individual counseling are provided by trained clinicians and include chemical dependency counseling and education, life skills training, and relapse prevention. Twelve-step meeting attendance and sponsorship are key components of the program, helping participants integrate quickly into the recovery community. Our treatment program is based on proven 12-step and clinical treatment methods.

The Next Step offers clients access to an internet-ready computer for job search. Recreation during free time can include basketball, volleyball, and exercise equipment all contained here on location. There are two to three clients per room, with each room having its own full bathroom.

Treatment does not have to end with the completion of primary residential or outpatient care. For people who need some extra support, there's The Next Step in Euless -- a transitional living and extended care program for men.

Dallas Metropolitan Area Outpatient Offices:

Intensive Outpatient And Aftercare Programs

Intensive Outpatient and Aftercare Services are available at all of these locations. The intensive outpatient program requires 10 hours each week (at least 3 days a week) in a structured, supportive setting led by licensed professionals, consisting of structured groups, individual and family sessions. The multi-disciplinary program teaches you how to adjust to sober living as you continue your daily responsibilities -- living your life while learning to remain abstinent from drugs and/or alcohol.

Our Aftercare Services are unique in that we provide a two year support program at no cost to you once you have successfully completed any program within our network. The weekly groups meet in all of these locations in order to stay connected to others who are recovering and wish to provide support for each other.

Teens and Adolescents. Change can happen.

The Right Step adolescent program was developed to provide for the specific needs of youths ranging from 13 to 17 years old. Specific length of stay is contingent on their needs and progress made toward completing individualized treatment goals and varies with each client's progress. Discharge and aftercare planning begins at the onset of treatment and is designed to assist in the transition from a self-defeating lifestyle to a productive happy future.

In addition to attending an accredited on-site school, the program focuses on teaching personal accountability, respect, communication skills, and the necessary tools to achieve long-term sobriety. While the program is highly structured, it also offers a variety of sober leisure/recreational activities.

The adolescent program engages the youth in 12-Step Recovery Principles, Chemical Dependency Education, Individual and Family Counseling, Relapse Prevention, Experiential Group Therapy, Art Therapy, Spirituality, Yoga/Fitness Class, and begins the process of making a life long connection to AA/NA.

Unique to the adolescent program is the Phase/Point System, which allows the youth to gain privileges by participating in and accomplishing program elements and tasks. This system enables counselors and parents to monitor a client's progress throughout the program in an overt, systematic manner. The reward systems are empirically based methods that motivate and teach the adolescent about positive consequences for positive behaviors. Visit our Adolescent Program page.
